Attention to the following items will ensure maximum visibility to the search engine spiders.
  • Your web should have sufficient back links. -  Backlink: Link from one site pointing to another. Backlinks are an important part of SEO, and should be relevant to the content of your site in order to be effective. In other words, a site with backlinks pointing to your page should have a similar theme to yours. For example, a site about pet supplies should have backlinks pointing to sites about pets.

  • Your web site should be valid HTML. -  Spiders and other search tools find it much easier to search a website which is written in HTML versus other methods such as flash.
     
  • Description meta tags must be correctly formatted. -  Description Tag: Part of the meta tag set, the description tag is an important element that increases your chances of obtaining better rankings within the search engines. The description tag should describe what your site is about, in a proper sentence or two, and should contain relevant keywords and phrases.
     
  • All pages should have keyword meta tags that are correctly formatted. -  Keywords Meta Tag: Located within the head of an HTML document, the keywords meta tag contains the relevant keywords and phrases associated with a web site. Relevant, popular keywords placed within the keywords meta tag will give your web site a stronger presence in the search results. This is an important part of SEO.
     
  • Pages should contain title tags that are the proper length. -  Title: Short for HTML "title tag." Title tags are one of the most important textual content elements to the search engines. Adding relevant key terms to the title tag is a favorable factor the search engines look at when indexing web sites.
     
  • All keyword phrases should have a strong relevance inside your page pattern. -  Density: The percentage that a keyword or phrase repeats itself on a web page. Density is an important factor for Search Engine Optimization. The density of a keyword should be targeted between 2-5 percent to give your pages the most effective results.
